Portland and east Portland. Our finished backyard ADU is in Portland, and Portland's residential infill rules allow ADUs on most lots.
East Multnomah County. Troutdale, Fairview, Wood Village, and Happy Valley. Each city has its own ADU size limits and Joel confirms them for your address before design.

Oregon law sets the floor: every city must allow an ADU with a single-family house, with no extra parking and no owner-occupancy rule, and Portland-metro cities must allow middle housing on residential lots. Each city then sets its own size limits, setbacks, and fees. Gresham's numbers are in our rules guide; for other cities, the site visit is where Joel confirms what applies.
